Zulick's Landmarks in Rhetorical Theory and Criticism:
an Ever-Expanding Canon (I'm way behind on this one, more soon)

Some of these titles were selected because they clearly define an area of theory or criticism to which students must often refer. Others are there because they are useful in showing students how to apply theory to specific texts. Others are personal favorites because they have shaped my own thinking. And of course a few are all of these. Essays that are "landmarks" primarily for historical reasons are easily available elsewhere and here omitted.
