Anime is an unofficial name for Japanese animation.
As with conventional live-action entertainment, there is not one "type"
of anime. It covers a wide area of genres, such as comedy, science
fiction, and even horror. Most anime is based on manga, or
comic books, which are popular in their own right. As anime gains
popularity, it is introducing more people to another form of storytelling,
as well as providing a glimpse into Japanese culture.
These are a few of the anime that I enjoy:
Ranma
1/2, created by Rumiko Takahashi.
Tenchi
Muyo!, created by Masaki Kajishima.
El
Hazard: The Magnificent World.
Also, a small page devoted to one of my favorite characters:
Ami Mizuno (Amy Anderson in English)- aka Sailor
Mercury- from the anime series Sailor Moon.
