Rafael Correa, economist, is leading in the latest pre-election
polls to be the next President of Ecuador. He is being described in
various news stories as a "leftist" and a potential ally of Chavez
(although his dissertation supervisor said that, if elected, he would
probably be more like Lula). Some information on his activities as
an economist follows. What it doesn't say, though, is what theoretical
perspective in economics he is coming from. Is he a 'left-wing'
marginalist or a heterodox economist? If the latter, what type?
In solidarity, Jerry
