The Second Accounting
and the New Labor Process Symposium (2ndANLP) will take place at the
Registration Form below.
Scope of Topics
The symposium provides a forum for broad range of research that
deal with all aspects of critical accounting and the labor process. A broad
range of research methodologies will be considered.
The ANLP
Symposium has its origins in Critical Accounting research. It incorporates
applied work in labor process studies, as they relate to pressing issues of our
times. These include (but not limited to) the realization crises of modern
economies that are presently expressed in the Subprime/mortgages turmoil, emerging
credit card instabilities, and -- in general -- the fragilities of the banking
sector, nationally and internationally. These topics are the most urgent
at present. The conference will also consider submissions covering more
traditional content, such as:
• Backdating
and Stock Options
• The
Political Economy of accounting
• Accounting's
role in international capital markets Reporting-impact on
stock market instabilities
• Accounting
/ auditing and Money-laundering
• Regulation
of national and international banking
• Management
accounting and the organization of the labor process
• The
Accountability of Government functions
• Accounting
(History) as Social Memory
• Accounting
and democracy in the workplace
• Accounting's
adjudicative function in international relations (e.g.
The constantly changing nature of
accounting and its various problematics requires that the list above be
considered open and provisional.
Paper Submission Deadline and Requirements
Papers or abstracts should be submitted as MS Word email
attachment to tony.tinker@baruch.cuny.edu.
The deadline for submissions and early bird registration is
July 1, 2009.
Only submissions that are available for eventual review for
the International Journal of Critical Accounting should be submitted to the symposium.
The review process will begin prior to the meeting.
