Ernst Bloch has an epigraph to a chapter of The Principle of Hope from Brecht, but in the excerpt I saw online this was not attributed. Does anyone know the Brecht it is from?
Here's the quote, a good one:
"The great truth of our age (to knowledge of which we have not yet been helped, but without knowledge of which no other truth of importance can be found) is that our continent is sinking into barbarism because the conditions of ownership of the means of production are maintained by force."
