It seems to me that one of the best legacies this generation can
leave the future is to return to Marx to the status of an ordinary
human being and writer, and return the discussion of his work to the
same standards that are used for other geniuses.

Chai-on:

But, to do that in our generation, we should first correctly interpret
Marx's works. Otherwise, his works can ever remain as a bible-like.

Duncan addressed;

One function this list might perform is to work out some ways in
which we can do justice to each other's ideas even when we
disagree with them. I think this is particularly important in teaching,
since students often come away from classes on Marx with either a
very narrow understanding of the actual range of opinion, or the
impression that Marxists can agree on nothing at all, both
unfortunate results.
