Jerry asks:

Would it be accurate to observe by
ostensive definition :-), that the Reuten-Williams work bears a family
resemblance to (fellow OPE-Ler) Tony Smith's _The Logic of Marx's Capital:
Replies to Hegelian Criticisms_ (Albany, State University of New York
Press, 1990)?

Michael W.

Yes - absolutely. I only wish I had read more of Tony's excellent expositions
BEFORE Geert and I wrote our 1989 book.

I regret to say that I have not read his 1990 systematically yet - but will be
doing so.

Jerry continues:
More specifically, would the mapping of levels and axis of
abstraction be similar to that given in his "Appendix: A Table of the
Categories in Capital" (pp. 209-210; also explained in text)? Of course,
I'd be interested in hearing what Tony's answers to the above questions
are as well.

Michael W:
So an answer to your question will have to await my reading the book!

I would also be very interested to hear from Tony on the subject.

Comradely greetings,

Michael W.
