A propos of Andrew Trigg's ope-l 3975, the relationship between the
"Fundamental Marxian [sic] Theorem" and the Hawkins-Simon condition was indeed
immediately obvious to Samuelson. On p. 64 of one of the articles I've cited,
his "Insight and Detour in the Theory of Exploitation: A Reply to Baumol,"
JEL 12:1, March 1974, Samuelson refers to the "FM [sic] T" as a "strengthened
Hawkins-Simon condition."
