Dear comrades,
I would like to add my support to avoiding what have come to be called
"flames" or "flame wars" on lists (this one in particular). I have been
trying to follow the debates (coping with time pressures and poor grasp of
the technology). As one who is also critical of many aspects of the TSS
position (or positions), and who shares some common ground with Ajit, I still
find the tone of some of his posts disturbing. Jerry may sometimes be a bit
on the cautious side, but given the sort of nonsense that his marred some
other lists, I would say that this is warranted. Keep the discussions going;
let them go wherever the interests of the list members take them; and let the
only flame that appears on OPE be the bright beacon of inquiry! ;-)
