Dear Jerry:

In his Capital, vol 1, chapter 7, The labaour process, Marx settles the
fundemental lines of his thought on labour productivity: from the point of
view of the product the instruments and the object of labour are means of
production and labour itself is productif labour -Ben Fowkes translation.
He immediately adds in a footnote and according to french edition: this
determination of productif labour becomes thoroughly insufficent when we
look at capitalist production.
