For Marxian studies in addition to the ones you mentioned, some other
recent works well worth considering include (OPE-L listmember) Murray G.
Smith's _Invisible Leviathan: The Marxist Critique of Market Despotism
beyond Postmodernism_ (Toronto, University of Toronto Press, 1994) [e.g.
comparison of Fred's to Murray's empirical studies might prove
interesting] and Michael J. Webber and David L. Rigby _The Golden Age
Illusion: Rethinking Postwar Capitalism_ (NY, The Guilford Press, 1996)
[Webber/Rigby were very influenced by Farjoun/Machover so it might be
interesting to compare W/R with Cockshott/Cottrell since Paul and Allin
were also influenced by F/M).

In solidarity, Jerry
