[OPE-L:4529] viruses

A quick tip, in the light of viruses sent to the list recently
from Ajit's and Andrew's computers.

_Never_ open an email attachment unless it both comes from
someone you trust _and_ is described in an accompanying email
text from the same party ("I am attaching a whatsit file called
such-and-such").

This won't guarantee your safety, but it will help. Safety is
enhanced if you can ensure that your email reading software does
NOT open attachments for you automatically (some mail readers do
this, and it is a Very Bad Idea). There is usually a
configuration option somewhere to turn this madness off.

Allin Cottrell.
