    Subject: [OPE-L:5894] character masks

    A few 'character mask' questions:

    1) What was the first publication by Marx in which the concept of character masks was adopted?

    2) Was this assumption ever abandoned, dropped or
    relaxed by Marx? When? Where?

    3) What is the intellectual history and significance of this concept prior to Marx?

    4) How does Marx's use of the assumption of character masks compare to those prior uses of that
    assumption?

    5) What are the implications for such an assumption in terms of the deepening of that analysis?

    In solidarity, Jerry
