Re Alan's [6650]: Any discussions about who to admit or re-admit belong *off-list*. This is for two reasons: 1) in fairness to the individual being considered, and 2) to allow listmembers to make the most forthcoming and honest evaluations. This has, in fact, always been the practice of this list (and, indeed, in an off-list message I so informed a couple of listmembers recently).
