Dear OPE-L'ers: The University of Utah Economics Department has a job opening which might be filled by a Marxist. (What is called "Political Economy" is at our Department mainly Marxist Political Economy.) Salaries are low but we have several Leftists and Marxists at the faculty. Hans G. Ehrbar History of Economics Thought, Heterodox Macroeconomics, Institutionalist Economics, Political Economy The Department of Economics invites applications for a full-time tenure track appointment in History of Economic Thought with substantive expertise in either of the following fields: Heterodox Macroeconomics, Institutionalist Economics or Political Economy. The appointment will begin on August 16, 2003, subject to final budgetary approval. The successful candidate must have a Ph.D. by the time of the appointment to the rank of assistant professor. Duties will include some combination of undergraduate and graduate teaching in the field of History of Economic Thought, and possibly in Heterodox Macroeconomics or Political Economy within the department's curriculum, graduate supervision, research, and service related activities.
