This is an especially revealing connection to make to students and workers since George Bush (Sr.) was the head of the CIA at the time of the coup in Chile and one could, with justification, claim that he (and the US government that he represented) is a war criminal and terrorist who undermined democratic institutions internationally (at the time of the overthrow of the Allende government, Chile had the longest standing continuous history of [bourgeois] democratic elections in Latin America.) The example of Chile also makes it clear what the consequences of a US-sponsored "regime change" can be.
