Dear Chai-0n Lee,

Lenin made the point in his 'Historical Destiny of the Doctrine of Karl Marx' in Pravda 1 March 1923. In the English Collected Works, Lenin, ( from the fourth Russian edition) Volume 18 p 584,

He says , of the period after 1872, 'The dialectics of history were such that the theoretical victory of marxism compelled its enemies to disguise themselves ( his emphasis) as Marxists'

It should of course ALWAY be remembered that any writer is addressing his reader from a specific historical juncture. Reading this article one has in mind a clear sense of both the successes and the disasters that in fact befell humanity afterwards, but there can be no doubt that petty bourgeoise socialism, above all in the Imperialist states, constantly appeals to Marx whilst in fact urging all sorts of reactionary nonsense.

Best regards

paul Bullock.

  Hi, Paul!

I am Lee on the [OPE-L]. You mentioned in the last post on the [OPE-L] "Lenin made the point that in order to defeat the revolution its enemies would, indeed had, to disguise themselves as Marxists." May I know from where you quoted the above exactly, please?

Thank you in advance for your kind teaching.

  Yours

  Chai-On Lee
