Evo Morales, the candidate of the MAS (Movement To Socialism) party, was elected president of Bolivia. What will this mean for other struggles in Latin America? How is the MAS vision of socialism similar to and different from other perspectives on socialism, including perspectives in Venezuela? Will Morales, as the BBC story at http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/4541306.stm , asks, "side with Chavez or be a pragmatist like Lula"? Given the position of MAS and Morales on coca (see Morales's web site below), how will the US react?
