The Center for Global Justice in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, invites
you to participate in the bi-lingual Workshop "Another World
is Necessary: Justice, Sustainable Development & Sovereignty," July
19-26, 2006.

Although the global justice movement is advancing powerfully, the Workshop
takes place amidst gathering crisis when alternatives are most needed.
Our goal is to develop and promote alternatives that are just,
sustainable, and respect popular sovereignty.

We are proud to announce that we will be joined by Gustavo Esteva, one of
Latin American's leading "deprofessionalized" intellectuals, in this task.
His publications include dozens of books and hundreds of essays that
argue against the current trends in international development. Since 1996,
Gustavo has served as a close advisor to the Zapatistas, and in that
capacity, was one of three authors of the San Andreas Accords.

Representatives of Argentina's recuperated factory movement, Brazil's MST
(landless workers' movement), and Venezuela's Bolivarian revolution will
also participate, as well as Mexican popular education specialists, water
specialists, and Cuban researchers.

Suggested themes and how to participate are on the attached PDF file.
Please help spread the word by printing and posting it and forwarding it
to friends and listserves.

Workshop results will be published in Spanish and English on our website
-- www.globaljusticecenter.org -- and in print. Results of our
successful 2004 and 2005 workshops are also on our website.

We invite all participants to join and participate in the face-to-face
task of renewing our mission. We hope to see you in July!

In solidarity, Octavio Bernal, Betsy Bowman, Cliff DuRand, Ann Ferguson,
Milton Fisk, Yolanda Millan, Graciela Monteagudo, Peggy Rivage-Seul, Bob
Stone, Javier Villanueva for the Program Committee of the Center for Global
Justice
