Hi Jurriaan: To begin with, it should be noted that the Democratic Party itself is primarily a conservative (bourgeois) political party. The Republican Party wants to paint the DP as liberal but that has not been the case for a VERY long time. In truth, The Republican Party is led by right-wing extremists and the DP is led by conservatives. Moreover, the DP leadership has shown a great ability to accommodate the RP agenda: i.e. they are cowardly and have refused to fundamentally challenge the RP when it controlled the White House. As for McCain, he could very well be the next President of the United States. He has been making a lot of efforts in the last year or so to woo the right-wing of the RP and this should help him win the RP nomination. The speculation is that it will be a McCain-Clinton (i.e. Hillary Clinton) contest. The positions of both on the war against Iraq and many other questions are very similar. In solidarity, Jerry
