BTW thanks Jerry for pointing out the link. Of course, slower growth doesn't
mean manufacturing has stopped expanding... In general it seems that
manufacturing net output responds more strongly to the rise and decline of
economic activity than other sectors. I wasn't previously aware of UNIDO,
but the existence of this internationally comparable data set is certainly
valuable.
