Hi Jurriaan: "Refutation" is a very strong word and one which some Marxians have abused in recent years, e.g. some pretentious and aggressive TSSI authors have stretched the meaning of that term beyond its limit. A less contentious and controversial word -- like critique -- which describes Pannekoek's writing on Grossman is preferable, imo. In solidarity, Jerry PS: "Suppression" is another very strong word misused by some TSSI authors: e.g. on a recent page at Kliman's site -- http://akliman.squarespace.com/why -- he claims that a. the Left Forum; b. _Monthly Review_; c. _Science & Society_ (David L is singled out especially); d. URPE, and; e. the Brecht Forum _all_ allegedly conspired to "suppress dissent" when the Left Forum rejected a proposal for a panel on Kliman's new book.
