Cajo Brendel, one of the last remaining historical figures of the Dutch
communist left, recently died. He was 92 years old. Cajo animated the
councilist group and publication "Daad en Gedachte" . His best known book
is a biography of Anton Pannekoek. He was a lively speaker and a gifted
writer and passionately devoted to and optimistic about the
self-emancipation of the working class.
