Hi Anders:

Good points. Further studies in the theory of rent could have been
taken-up in the "special study on competition", which Marx - of course -
didn't write. A question posed here is explaining the mechanism by which
one class or section of a class is able to extort value from another class
or section of the same class. Hence, it concerns the ways in which class
and market power affect the ways in which value is distributed. The
discussion of values and PoP in _Capital_ is at a much higher level of
abstraction and a topic related to the theory of rent (natural monopolies)
is excluded by assumption from the transformation calculations.

In solidarity, Jerry
