>> petty-bourgeois > Oops, "petit". Hi Ian; A petit correction, eh? (pun intended) There is a long tradition in socialist and radical thought, including and even pre- dating Marx, of attempting to label opposing perspectives with a "class" brush: i.e. claiming that another perspective represents the perspective of another class. In general terms, I'd say this is very bad practice: not the kind of thing that those who support pluralism in economics should be doing in the 21st Century. i also don't think it makes for very convincing arguments. Even _if_ it might have limited usefulness as part of a critique, it is the type of assessment that flows from critique and can not be substituted for critique itself. So, when you argue that you could develop this point at another time and place, I find that worrisome in the sense that you have come to the conclusion before concluding the crtique. In solidarity, Jerry
