The 2008 Critical Perspectives
on Accounting Conference aims to promote an open understanding of 'what is
critical', and how that applies to the realms of research, teaching, and
practice. In this spirit, the meeting provides a forum for critical research on
emerging issues in accounting, auditing and teaching; bringing together
interested faculty, professionals, policy makers, accounting students and
others concerned with professional and regulatory issues in the corporate,
university, government, and financial sectors. In addition to the main
conference, Critical Perspectives is offering three mini-meetings: THE EMANUEL
SAXE SYMPOSIUM (Thursday, April 24), THE EMERGING SCHOLARS WORKSHOP (Thursday,
April 24), and the European Critical Accounting Symposium (ECAS), (Monday,
April 28). The Main CPA Conference will begin with a Thursday Evening Reception
on April 24, with the main sessions scheduled for Friday and Saturday, April 26
-26.
