Investors seem to have reacted enthusiastically to the recent share issue of the Société Générale. Out of the total issue of 5.5 billion euro there were almost twice as many applications, in total around 10 billion. In the claim issue, existing shareholders have first option to buy - for every four shares they can buy another one, and resell their right to buy. Jerome Kerviel may live on as a folk hero in France, but for the rest it's business as usual. Interestingly, it is said Nick Leeson of Barings Bank fame is living in Ireland, got a degree in psychology and became manager of Galway United football club. J.
