Hi Paul C and Jurriaan: Yes, I think it's also important for purposes of conversational clarity that parties to a discussion are clear whether a question concerns a history of thought question, including hermeneutic questions associated with Marx, or a claim about the real subject matter of capitalism. Both types of discussion are legitimate but there is often confusion when "Marx questions" and "empirical questions" are discussed simultaneously.
