Paul, the fact that an operator of a power station could take decisions on the basis of a stable patter of energy consumption doesn’t change anything. This only revels that the independent variable was stable during a specific period of time.   In this preference stability environment even a capitalist manager could take right decisions. But we have to identify correctly the chain of causalities, and here subjective preferences have an important role –if institutionally speaking the system allows freedom of choice.  A. Try telling the operator of a power station that the objective heating power of coal must first be filtered through subjectivity and he will think you are havering.
