The Marxian concept of the industrial reserve army is a more meaningful measure of 'unemployment'
in today's international capitalist economy. In the official measures of unemployment, the working
(primarily, self-employed) poor who are part of the petty commodity producing (informal) sector
aren't counted. This is especially important in entire regions of the world capitalist economy.
