Hello Jerry. Of course I support Ecuador in its claim. And despite the nationalist sentiments that this controversy raises, there are a minority of progressive Spanish that also support it. Unfortunately in Spain the nationalistic proud is closely related to its colonial history and the nostalgia for its imperial past, attracting the support of many people.
We can determine precisely the origin of this treasure to establish the legitimacy of each claim, so this is a cause that worth rather than the totalitarian deviations of real socialism in Cuba and Venezuela.
Jerry: **Socialists should support reparations (to whom?) for wealth stolen by capital from non-capitalists social formations**.
If we follow the Marxian theory of value this would carry us to the beginning of times. A clearly unfeasible alternative.
Regards,A. Agafonow

Alejandro:
It will receive attention - in international courts. Do you support Peru's claim
in this case? The issue for us, I suppose, might be whether socialists
should support reparations (to whom?) for wealth stolen by capital from
non-capitalists social formations.
In solidarity, Jerry
