RE: [OPE] Venezuela is the most democratic country in Latin America

What is the salary and personal wealth of Hugo Chavez compared to the

other presidents of Latin America? (For purposes of comparison, Barrack Obama's

personal income for 2007, according to his tax return, was $4.2 million). Surely,

this is a more relevant criteria for accessing how democratic a nation

is than whether there are or are not term limits. What are his personal

connections to large transnational corporations? Were they, for instance,

large donors in his re-election campaign? To what extent do the wealthiest

individuals and corporations control public policy in Venezuela compared

to other countries in the hemisphere?

In solidarity, Jerry
