There is a rich literature on varieties of capitalism, which Marxists have tended to neglect due to their monolithic conception of capitalism, i.e., a mode of production based on the allegedly exploitation of labor.
So, the concept of mixed economy has provided for a rich research program in order to understand how capitalism has more or less departed from pure market arrangements. A key work on this issue is a book fromGosta Esping-Andersen:The Three Worlds of Welfare Capitalism. Polity Press. Princeton University Press. 1990 (translations in Chinese, Greek, Spanish, French, Japanese, and Korean).

Asunto: [OPE] "varieties of capitalism"
I wonder if any OPErs can suggest leads for me on the following concern: does anyone writing on "varieties of capitalism" (responding to, or extending, Hall and Soskice) develop a typology that situates these various forms of capitalism on a map that also includes any forms of socialism? or for that matter fascism?
Thanks in advance for any leads
Paul
