No, it wouldn't have been. We have an admissions process which shouldn't
be suspended for situations like this. Had he wanted to contribute to the
discussion, it would have been very easily handled through the mechanism
of forwarding. This has happened many times in the past and has not been
a problem - except in a couple of instances when some on the list were
critical of my decisions to forward posts.
What we can't have is an arbitrary procedure which is applied for some but
not for others in similiar situations.
