[OPE] IMPORTANT NOTE ON ADMINISTRATIVE COMMITTEE

The term of office for the current Administrative Committee (AC) expires at the end of this
year. The current AC decided to maintain the same procedure for random selection as was
used last time. This is a double-blind procedure in which there are two separate
randomized lists created and no one knows the results until the two lists are generated
and compared.
 
*EVERYONE WHO WROTE A POST IN THE LAST YEAR is in the pool of eligible AC members*,
with the exception of the outgoing members (Alejandro A, Dave Z, Ian W, and - although
they resigned from the AC previously, Jurriaan and Michael S) and myself.
 
There will again be *FIVE* members of the AC. List members will be contacted off-list and
asked to serve on the AC in the order of their randomized ranking. The term of office will
again be 2 years.
 
*IF YOU ARE ASKED TO SERVE ON THE AC, PLEASE GIVE IT VERY SERIOUS CONSIDERATION AND - IF
AT ALL POSSIBLE - AGREE*. This exercise in direct democracy requires your participation
and support to work.
