[OPE] Adam Hanieh on Egypt's Uprising

Hanieh notes that Egypt's haute bourgeoisie exited by plane to Dubai, in the
early days of the uprising, to wait out until things had calmed down more;
it's really not unlike the Parisian bourgeoisie exiting to Marseille and
bungalows along the Mediterranean coast, in May 1968.

May '68 wasn't a "revolution" either, but it had an enormous influence on
two generations. Hanieh points out that two-thirds of Egyptians alive today
have never known any other regime than Mubarak's, and that they lived
through the brunt of neoliberal reform in Egypt.
