He did not say ‘omnipotence of the banks’ but ‘omnipotence of the giant banks’ – meaning, as against the small ones. Moreover, it’s silly to read such statements in a literalist and absolutist way - clearly giant banks don’t control 100% of everything. The point is about concentration and centralization of capital to such a degree that economics and politics are fundamentally affected. That point was quite correct then and it remains so today.
As I was saying, it’s useless to fight straw men.
