I am in full agreement with you. A few years ago we were making some advance in getting people elected in the socialist party here, but my gripe with them as a member was that although they thought of themselves as Marxists they had not programme relating to how they were going to change the economic system. In the absence of such a clear programme, it was easy for personality issues to derail them both internally and in the eyes of the electorate.

If a party, a movement, and a class want to overthrow capitalism, they
need at least the core of a program for the next mode of production. It
seems such programs are rare today, whatever the situation in Scotland.
I offered the core of one in three specific principles derived from
analysis of contemporary capitalism in my book No Rich, No Poor. At
least there is something specific to work from.
