Like Iwao, I also sent a request to listproc yesterday to find out the
listing for PEN-L recipients. Having reviewed that list, I also came to
the conclusion that another post to PEN-L might not be the best procedure.

I hear people saying broadly the same thing:

1) We should consider inviting some individuals that we believe would
help our project. We can do this now and/or we can do this later.

2) We should keep the purpose of the project in mind when we think about
inviting people aboard. We need (and have) a good list, but we can't have
"too many" people either. Only time will tell what constitutes the best
list size.

3) We should begin the process of working together collaboratively and see
how things go before making any more radical decisions regarding list size.

As all of you know, this is not the position I started out with, but
others have convinced me that this is the best policy. We must all learn
to work together and be willing to change our minds when presented with
convincing arguments.

Do we agree on the above or do we need to discuss the subject more?

In OPE-L solidarity,

Jerry

PS: I am receiving the list posts now. You should discontinue "cc"ing me.
