>What is Postone's intepretation, Rakesh? Paul
Paul, I will refer you to the second chapter of Moishe Postone's Time,
Labor and Social Domination: a reintepretation of Marx's critical theory.
Cambrige. The chapter is extremely audacious, basically a critique of the
interpretation of every major Marxist's interpretation of value theory. So
Sweezy, Dobb, Lange, Meek etc are all explicitly criticized. Postone
attempts to show that the domain of value theory has been confined to the
realm of distribution, and has been based on assumptions of static
equilibrium. Given the difficulty of the chapter--and that I have not been
sleeping well--I must leave it to you to evaluate if you find it
interesting. If you do read it, I would love to hear what you think.
Yours,
Rakesh
