Michael P. , in answering John, suggests that this question concerns
whether the method of CAPITAL is quantitative, qualitative, or both.

That's what I would call an easy question. Obviously, it's both
qualitative and quantitative. That's dialectics (or one aspect of that
method). However, Michael does raise an interesting question for
discussion -- Marx's method.

Since we are going to be re-examining CAPITAL soon, that would seem to
be a pretty relevant question. Will Michael, or anyone else, care to
expand more on Marx's method in CAPITAL?

A word of caution: we don't have to agree at this point on Marx's and
our method. How we understand that method will come up at various
stages of this project and can not be answered entirely in the
abstract. Our method will also be expressed concretely by the process
that we use to examine specific questions.
