In response to Saad-Filho, I applaud the idea of paring down the
discussion topics, but would encourage the discussion to focus around
relatively concrete and researchable questions, on the ground that the
best way to give meaning to the abstract is to approach it with a
concrete problem in mind. I also worry that energy that could go into
publishable papers will be dissipated in purely theoretical discourse on
the net. What about moving toward an electronic journal, refereed?
