Paul B. did a wonderful job of putting more eloquent words into my mouth than
I could have. The three groups make sense in simplifying our work, but we
should also be careful to make sure that all of the sub-groups are on the
same wave length. For example, if you want to make a testable hypothesis
about FROP, you should also take theoretical concern into account. For
example, how can you treat revaluations of constant capital or how can you
measure abstract labor?
At the same time, we should be ready to be modest in our expectations. If
we were to accomplish all of our stated goals, then we, a small group of less
than 30 people, working in our spare time, will have put Marxist thought on
a much higher level than Marx, Engels, as well as generations of
activists and theoriticians have. I would like to think that our
prospects were that rosy, but .....
