As you can see, the volume of mail has declined in the last few days.
This is related to the upcoming holidays and semester breaks and will
probably continue until the turn of the year (at least). Members who
subscribe to other Net lists will have already noticed a similar decline
in posts on other lists.

I am enclosing information on: a) obtaining statistics on OPE-L; b)
netisms; and c) current membership.

YFTR,
Jerry

Subject: STATISTICS ON OPE-L

To obtain a listing of the statistics that indicate the total numbers
of posts that each member, present and past, has posted, send a message to:

<listproc@anthrax.ecst.csuchico.edu>

with the message:

STATISTICS OPE-L -ALL

This information, though, should be read with two cautionary notes:

(1) listproc does not list authors, in a strict sense, but rather the
address of origin. Consequently, forwarded messages from another list
member are counted towards the person's account who forwarded the messages.

(2) listproc statistics, of course, do not distinguish between posts
that deal with procedural issues/announcements versus substantive issues.

For more information on listproc and a listing of additional commands,
send a message to listproc that reads simply:

Subject: NETISMS

Some have asked about abbreviations that are commonly used on the Net. I
am *not* encouaging the use of the following "netisms." They are
being provided only FYI.

BTW: by the way
FWIW: for what it's worth
FYI: for your information
IMO: in my opinion
IMHO: in my humble opinion
YFTR: yours for the revolution
