It seems to me that we have to agree with Duncan on this
matter. I am sure that all of us would not mind some
of our posts to be public. Others -- forget it.

But let's say that I have exposed the errors of Duncan's
non-dualist formulations and refer to his posts. (smile)
Further, assume I want my posts public. We can't archive
conversations in which parts are missing. This would
drive both the much needed editor of the Archives nuts
as well as any reader.

At the same time, it might be a good idea to construct an
archive FOR US and new members that join the list. We may
also want an archive to post papers that would be public.
But these would be papers and not part of our dialog. Here,
though, I think we would be duplicating resources that
already exist. The only reason for doing this would be to
construct some sort of defense against charges of elitism.

Having participated in these kind of discussions on other
lists, it is a pleasure to "let one's hair down" and not
feel obligated to respond to some of the strange souls that
lurk about on the NET.
