Iwao: thanks for the report on your reading *Capital* in Japanese mailing
list in [OPE-L:2819]. It sounds very encouraging. My suspicion is that
similar lists will be set up in the next few years for other languages.

I can't say that I understand how if you are up to the 3rd paragraph now,
that means that you will be finished four years later. I find the math
confusing. In any event, we all know it takes a long time to work through
*Capital* in a group. Plus, time spent on analysing the first chapter
should be more than repaid as you continue (although, there were some like
Sweezy and Althusser who might disagree).

Patience, good faith, serious engagement, commitment, and lack of flames
are needed -- on both lists. It sounds like your off to a great start.

One suggestion: if during the course of your discussions, you decide you
want a "second opinion" (or 3rd, 4th, 5th, etc. opinions) on a particular
passage or interpretation, why not ask us? I see no reason why we can't
have a little periodic collaboration with your comrades.
