I may or may not have mentioned, in my own reply to Simon's "ethics" query,
that I support the opening of the OPE-L archives. In any case, I reiterate
my support for Jerry's suggestion. I do so because I think it is important
that the historical record be as complete as possible and open to all, and
because I think this may aid the research of others, as in the case of Simon's
student.
If we can't get agreement on this, maybe we can get agreement that individuals
may donate specific *future* posts they write to an open archives. No long
quotations from others' posts could be included in the posts that are donated.
