OVERALL, May was an *uneven* month. On the one hand, volume was
relatively high and discussion was focused (most especially on the "ideal
vs. real value" thread). On the other hand, participation dropped yet
again (as the following numbers indicate):

March participation: 30 of 49 [61%]
April " 25 of 54 [46%]
May " 19 of 54 [35%]

As we enter June and the summer (in the northern hemisphere), we can
expect that a number of familiar voices will be on vacation. Those who
remain, hopefully many who have been silent in recent months or joined
relatively recently, will have to shoulder the burden of raising and then
discussing new subjects.

It is my sense that the existing threads are slowing-down ... so now might
be a good time to suggest new topics for discussion.
