It strikes me that many of the issues surrounding the proposed contract
between SUNY and the UUP are similar to those raised during the recent
United Postal Service (UPS) strike. Indeed, while I don't have any numbers
in front of me now, it seems to me that the "casualization" of labor (and
attempts at reducing bargaining power and job security of labor in the
name of greater "flexibility" and "competitiveness") are a major aspect of
capital's more recent attacks on workers globally. What do you think?
