Andy Brown, from Middlesex University Business School in London, is our
newest subscriber. He comes to us with high recommendations from several
listmembers.

Andy describes his research interests and publications as follows:

My research interests can be inferred from the title of my recent
discussion paper, 'Developing Realistic Methodology: How New
Dialectics Surpasses the Critical Realist Method for Social Science',
available on the Website for Critical Realism archive:
http://www.raggedclaws.com/criticalrealism/archive/abrown_drm.html

The paper draws on EV Ilyenkov's 'Dialectical Logic: Essays in its
History and Theory' to superseed Bhaskar philosophically and on
systematic dialectics (especially Tony Smith) to superseed Bhaskar
and co methodologically.

The paper is drawn from my PhD, which is 5 months from completion,
misleadingly entitled, 'Methodological and Theoretical Perspectives
on Global Economic Growth and Crises' - Here I set out the
supersession of critical realism by new dialectics in more detail and
try (and am still trying) to relate all this to theories of global
economic growth and crisis.

I also have an interest in econometrics (only because I have to
teach it!) and am a member of the editorial board of Historical
Materialism: Research in Critical Marxist Theory.
